PT TJK Power Marks World Environment Day with Mangrove Planting CSR Initiative

Batam, June 27, 2026 – Batam Power Plant Supports Mangrove Restoration Through Donation and Planting Activities for World Environment Day 2026
Contributing to Coastal Ecosystem Conservation

As part of the World Environment Day 2026 celebrations, Batam Power Plant participated in a mangrove conservation program organized by the Batam Environmental Protection Agency, reaffirming its commitment to ecological protection and sustainable development.

During the event, Batam Power Plant officially donated 150 mangrove seedlings to support the restoration of Batam’s coastal ecosystem. Mangrove forests play a crucial role in preventing coastal erosion, absorbing carbon dioxide, improving coastal resilience, and preserving biodiversity.

Following the donation ceremony, representatives from Batam Power Plant joined officials from the Batam Environmental Protection Agency and representatives from 29 local enterprises in a joint mangrove planting activity at the Sei Beduk Mangrove Conservation Area.

Working together, participants transported seedlings, prepared planting sites, installed support stakes, and planted mangrove saplings throughout the conservation area. In total, 1,600 mangrove trees were planted across approximately 0.5 hectares of coastal land. The restoration project will continue under a three-year conservation program aimed at gradually restoring the coastal wetland ecosystem.

During the event, participating organizations also attended a collective signing ceremony and certificate presentation. The Indonesian Akar Bhumi Environmental Organization presented Environmental Contribution Certificates to participating enterprises in recognition of their support for ecological conservation.

Batam Power Plant was honored with an Environmental Contribution Award, recognizing its active contribution to environmental restoration and community-based conservation efforts. Representatives from the Batam Environmental Protection Agency expressed their appreciation for the company’s long-term commitment to supporting local ecological governance, carbon reduction initiatives, and coastal environmental protection.

As a responsible energy enterprise, Batam Power Plant remains committed to integrating environmental stewardship into its operations. The company will continue to promote green and low-carbon development while working together with stakeholders to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for the communities it serves.
